ʒиN

ʒиN is an independent artistic zine that I have been publishing since 2023. It emerged as a way to create collective projects in a situation where the possibilities for direct collaboration with other artists were limited.

Each issue is built around its own conceptual framework — an idea, rule, or instruction that defines the mode of participation and interaction between authors. Here, ʒиN is not only a form for presenting the results of artistic work, but also a way to initiate and organize that work itself.

Experimental work with instructions occupies a special place in ʒиN. Each issue becomes a kind of laboratory in which different ways of organizing collective action are tested. Often, these processes are built as a sequence: one participant begins an action, another continues or transforms it, passing the result on to the next. I develop the initial conditions and organize the process, but its development depends on the participants’ decisions and cannot be fully determined in advance.

The form of each issue emerges from its internal logic. Text, photography, drawing, a sequence of images, or other materials can become elements of a shared process. Sometimes the work ends as a publication; sometimes it moves beyond it — into an exhibition space, the urban environment, or an autonomous artistic action.

ʒиN exists in digital PDF formats and as online publications on the Syg.ma platform, where the issues can be read directly in the browser.

ʒиN remains an open practice of interaction with other authors, in which creating the conditions for collaborative work is no less important than its result.
